About Me
Born in Johor, Malaysia, I'm a product of the National Youth Skill Training Institute, graduating in 1996 before furthering my studies at the Photo Art Institution, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I started my career as a photographer with the now defunct Malay tabloid daily 'WATAN' in 1997 before joining another news daily, 'THE SUN', in 1999, where I continued to work for another 4 years. I then joined Malaysia's leading English newspaper, 'THE STAR', where I am at present. Awards Recoginition • 2005 Malaysian Press Institute Award - 1st Prize in 'Best Media Photography'. • 2006 Asia Press Photo Contest- Merit Prize in General News & Spot News category. • 2007 Publish Asia - Gold Award in 'Best Newspaper Photographer' category. • 2007 Malaysian Press Institute Award- 1st Prize in 'Best Photo Essay'.
